The Center for Urban Waters, a
three-story, 51,000 square-foot world-class water testing and
research laboratory, is the newest development from Lorig
Associates. This LEED Platinum building houses the City of
Tacoma's Environmental Services Division, the University of
Washington Tacoma, and the Puget Sound Partnership. All
three organizations worked in a collaborative fashion
and focused on water quality issues, such as water testing,
research, and maintaining healthy waterways from a policy
perspective. The Center for Urban Waters is located in Tacoma
on the east shore of Thea Foss Waterway with unobstructed
